Experian IT Services (EITS) is the centralized technology organization that globally supports all of Experian. Our organization is comprised of about 2,000 employees across the globe supporting and improving our business-critical IT environment/ecosystem. Experian IT Services includes Infrastructure Services, Cyber & Information Security, and Enterprise Architecture. We drive growth through reusable technology providing quicker time to market for solutions, increased productivity, and a more secure environment


The Senior DevOps/Automation Engineer will be responsible to lead, develop and support automation initiatives related with Servers deployments and operations, in our global environment including, but not limited to: AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, Windows.


Core competencies include but are not limited to:

Advanced Linux and Windows operating systems support, Ansible, Terraform, bash scripting, power shell, Server Patching, Server OS and Security Hardening.


This position will be working with Global Infrastructure Automation team, developing, and implementing infrastructure automation both on premise and across public clouds, and provide critical role in the support of Infrastructure as code strategy.

Senior DevOps/Automation Engineer works under mínimal direction. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to lower-level personnel.


We're looking for creative thinkers with a strong team collaborative and service orientated mindset, who can communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and partner with different teams to deliver automated initiatives.


Summary of Primary Responsibilities:


  • Design, development, implementation, and support of key Infrastructure Automation initiatives like Global Standard Server Image, Server Deployment Automation, Server Patching and Vulnerability remediation Automation and Private Cloud Automation
  • Enhance the company's IT infrastructure security protocols leveraging automation and global standards
  • Identify manual processes that can be automated. Develop automation tools and processes to help scale operations.
  • Investigate and remediate any failures with our automated tasks or processes.
  • Maintain and refactor day to day processes and existing code.
  • Follow our coding standards, adhere to best practices, and provide documentation.
  • Follow strict change management controls, consider the organization's entire IT infrastructure when making changes and improvements.
  • Leverages appropriate technical tools with direction to perform daytoday administration tasks, rootcause analysis and service restoration (such as back up, restore, failover, log interpretation, and performance monitoring).
  • Resolves incidents and requests. Requires oncall availability on team rotation outside of normal business hours.
  • Develops and maintains positive and cooperative relationships, inside and outside of teams, interacting in a friendly, open, honest, and accepting manner.
  • Provide cross training within the team.

Qualifications:


What your background looks like:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering Discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience supporting Linux systems administration, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting within a complex multitier environment. Windows OS knowledge is a plus.
  • 5+ year's experience developing automation initiatives.
  • Proven technical experience and a solid foundation in operating systems.
  • Indepth understanding of code, scripting and programing languages such as Power Shell, BASH, YAML, Python.
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraforms).
  • Good understanding of distributed version control systems like GIT Bitbucket.
  • Experience in CI/CD processes, practices and tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware).
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with server patching and vulnerabilities remediation.
  • Experience with system performance monitoring & finetuning.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
  • Experience with ITIL methodology.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skil
