In this role, you will oversee and manage the accounting team in Costa Rica, ensuring timely completion of financial tasks and adherence to company and local regulatory requirements.

    Responsibilities

  • Lead the Costa Rican accounting team, fostering a strong work culture and promoting professional development.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including month-end closing, preparation of financial reports, and analysis of budget execution and quarterly performance.
  • Oversee local financial reporting, ensuring compliance with taxation regulations, Procomer requirements, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Manage the annual audit process, collaborating with external auditors.
  • Partner with local business units to provide financial insights and support.
  • Prepare annual budgets in collaboration with business leaders and monthly forecasts for global reporting.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure adherence to global compliance requirements.
  • Manage all direct and indirect payments, ensuring timely execution and accurate documentation.
  • Oversee all tax payments and ensure timely filing and payment.
  • Submit transfer pricing local files and manage Procomer compliance.
  • Manage cash flow for the company, ensuring sufficient funds to meet operational needs.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow reports and conduct budget control for the Global team.
  • Manage, supervise, and mentor the accounting team, fostering skill development and growth.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Public Accounting (CPA) or Finance.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in similar accounting roles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in IFRS, Costa Rican tax regulations, and Procomer requirements.
  • Strong experience in all aspects of the accounting cycle, including payroll and local reporting.
  • Experience with preparing budgets and cash flow statements.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting software.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral) is required (90%+).
