Job Title:
Business/Finance Data Analyst

Reports To:
Chief Executive Officer

Costa Rica (Remote)

The Business/Finance Analyst position is responsible for assisting in preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis projects. Provides analytical support for forward-looking financial and business-related projects.

Assists in the preparation of forecasts and analysis of trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions, and other related areas.

Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conducts special studies to analyze complex financial matters and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
  • Provides interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory, or customer financial regulations.
  • Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
  • Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
  • Directs preparation of studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
  • Interprets and applies corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting theory.
  • Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding costsaving or profitgenerating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, government requirements, and operating forecasts.
  • Leads organization in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.
  • Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution and determines their financial impact.

Qualifications, Education or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Business, Finance, or Data Analysis; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree desired.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite SuiteAnalytics or NetSuite SuiteAnalytics User certification

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to design and prepare complex reports, presentations, and correspondence. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings. Business English Proficiency required.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem-solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PowerBI) for spreadsheet analysis, costing model development, graphical reporting and statistical analysis.

Familiar with a commercially available Enterprise Resource Planning tool such as NetSuite.
