We are looking for someone who would be part of the Data Engineering and Architecture team as Data Governance Analyst in Western Union.


Role Responsibilities

  • Working in CDO organization primarily with the critical data that is sourced or derived in all business functions to ensure adequate governance is in place so that data used in Privacy, Risk and Finance reports are of good quality.
  • Liaise with divisional and functional CDOs to make sure critical data is planned in their book of work and delivered as per Group CDO Data Management Framework (DMF).
  • Understand the principles of BCBS239 regulation and drive the Data Governance process that ensures compliance from regulators standpoint.
  • Liaise with Risk and Compliance SMEs to ensure critical data that is consumed in Risk and Compliance is covered under data governance scope.
  • Drive processimprovements that would help in industrializing the Data Governance function.

Role Requirements

  • Exposure to Banking processes that would help in understanding the current and strategic data architecture of the bank which helps in enabling effective Data Governance. Experience in Risk and Finance functions (Credit Risk, Market Risk, RWA, Liquidity etc.) which helps to understand CDO processes which in turn helps to drive data governance culture across all CDO processes.
  • Experience in implement of Data Governance at enterprise level which include Data management, stewardships, Governance, Policy, Business process, critical data element traceability and lineage
  • Hand on experience in Data analysis, Data pivoting, extracting business insight from raw data. Understanding of BCBS239 principles, Data Quality and Data lineage processes to addvalue to the Data Governance capabilities.
  • Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Management, Master Data Management, Reference data, Data quality, report governance and Workflow Design experience under global data management improvement initiatives is required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from the Business, IT, and operations functions, to achieve governance objectives; resolve governance issues with functional representatives.
  • Develop and monitor the organizational data metrics to continuously align data needs with the privacy compliance monitoring requirements and data governance. Provide progress reports to management and oversee periodic updates to the Governance Roadmap.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present complex information to all levels of the organization and selfmotivated with ability to work independently to define and implement organizational strategy.
  • Assess Data Maturity based on industry standard models & develop and collect monthly KPIs for the Data Governance program and Align data initiatives and projects to the business and technology strategy.
  • Knowledge in the data privacy regulatory landscape: GDPR/ CPRA including PII and NON PII data classification and BCBS, Australian Bank regulation will be advantage and work with product owners, data architect, data engineers, data scientists, API developers and product developers to ensure data best practices are designed and implemented proactively.
