Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Test Specialist at IBM, your technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create, and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we're delivering the best of the best.

Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike.

In your role you may be responsible for:

• Building test scenarios and executing them.
• Building test automations using appropriate tools on Linux, Unix, Windows.
• Create test data and test environments.
• Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead and identify errors and validate successes for any software solution.
• Identify, understand, and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given program, application or set of applications.
• Do a deepdive and present test results to management and project teams clearly. Document and report test results, recreates and findings

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge of web technologies including java, JavaScript, API testing, DevOps and HTTP protocols.
• Knowledge of test automation and associated test tools.
• Knowledge of the project lifecycle in software delivery.
• Understanding of testing process, techniques, and their application.
• An aptitude for understanding the more technical elements of a system and the environments, how the systems interface and connect.
• Attention to detail.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience of GitHub Enterprise.
• Experience of System testing, Integration testing Knowledge of installing/configuring the databases (Oracle, MSSQL and DB2)
