FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

EARTH University is a distinguished private institution committed to advancing education in agriculture and natural resource management. PROFESSOR OF POST-HARVEST MANAGEMENT

LEARNING FACILITATOR

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide students in acquiring knowledge, skills, and hands-on experiences related to post-harvest methodologies and their significance, covering topics such as enhancing shelf life, maintaining quality, and minimizing post-harvest losses of fresh produce.
• Provide expert advice to the post-harvest laboratory and various academic farms.
• Foster student learning through practical experiences in a diverse and multicultural setting.
• Engage in outreach initiatives of the University and assist the International Academic Relations Office.
• Contribute to research projects, the Work Experience course, and other student-involved activities within your area of expertise.
• Support additional academic program activities and offer service to the University across both campuses, contributing to the holistic education of students.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor's degree in agronomy with a focus on post-harvest or related disciplines, complemented by a graduate degree (preferably a doctorate) in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in plant physiology, chemistry, engineering, nutrition/health, phytopathology, and the application of technologies in post-harvest practices.
• Background in advising agricultural enterprises in areas such as cultivation, harvesting, packaging, ripening, and marketing.
• Research experience in the aforementioned domains.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching (please include evaluations).
• Proficiency in information and communication technologies for both in-person and virtual teaching environments.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Strong capabilities in interdisciplinary and multicultural collaboration.
• Willingness to reside and work in a rural setting.
