- Guide students in acquiring knowledge, skills, and hands-on experiences related to post-harvest methodologies and their significance, covering topics such as enhancing shelf life, maintaining quality, and minimizing post-harvest losses of fresh produce.
- Provide expert advice to the post-harvest laboratory and various academic farms.
- Foster student learning through practical experiences in a diverse and multicultural setting.
- Engage in outreach initiatives of the University and assist the International Academic Relations Office.
- Contribute to research projects, the Work Experience course, and other student-involved activities within your area of expertise.
- Support additional academic program activities and offer service to the University across both campuses, contributing to the holistic education of students.
- A bachelor's degree in agronomy with a focus on post-harvest or related disciplines, complemented by a graduate degree (preferably a doctorate) in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in plant physiology, chemistry, engineering, nutrition/health, phytopathology, and the application of technologies in post-harvest practices.
- Background in advising agricultural enterprises in areas such as cultivation, harvesting, packaging, ripening, and marketing.
- Research experience in the aforementioned domains.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching (please include evaluations).
- Proficiency in information and communication technologies for both in-person and virtual teaching environments.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Strong capabilities in interdisciplinary and multicultural collaboration.
- Willingness to reside and work in a rural setting.
