ROLE OVERVIEW/SUMMARY**:

We are looking for
a Design Supervisor to join our team to lead the Design Team Operations. You will help support the rapid growth of the Spark and Digital Orthodontic business unit of Envista.

This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Costa Rica designers, and their Productivity and Quality metrics.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for 3060 Operation's member group can include: designers, Setup Leads, QA Leads, Clinical members, and others.
  • Responsible for 34 setup leads to support designer inquiries.
  • Reports to Costa Rica Design Group Leader.
  • Adhere to the Envista corporate model: S-QDIP
  • Safety, Delivery, Quality, Inventory, and Productivity
  • Conduct Daily management meetings within the department along with area leads.
  • Work collaboratively with other functions, including Clinical Quality, Operations Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Human Resources
  • Responsible for managing and reducing costs to design product
  • Coordinate and improve flow within the design using kaizen and standard work
  • Regular use of LEAN tools such as daily management and kaizen (5S, Standard Work, Kanban, etc)
  • Perform employee training and maintain training records.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Maintain and approve attendance for employees.
  • Prepare work and shift schedules including overtime as required.
  • Communicate with employees including distributing all company memos and pertinent information.
  • Provide feedback to Manager on employee's work performance and other situations as necessary
  • Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Assist with resolving personnel situations: coaching, guidance, investigating, identifying solutions, and recommending action
  • Own and execute associate develop plans and complete performance reviews
  • Flexible work schedule including overtime and other shift hours as required
  • Directly supervises assigned department and provides backup to others

Job Requirements:


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelors of degree or international equivalent in Engineering, Business or other related field equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in managing operational teams
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish for both reading and writing. Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Education
  • MBA is highly desirable.
  • 5 years minimum experience
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing concepts
  • Knowledge of operation finances
