Software Engineer - Heredia, Costa Rica - Tech9

We're seeking a skilled full-stack engineer to join our LATAM team at Tech9 You'll play a key role in a large-scale project converting our codebase from Kotlin to Scala.

Main Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to design, develop, and implement features across the full-stack.
• Deep dive into the existing Kotlin codebase and translate it efficiently into idiomatic Scala.
• Break down complex problems into manageable tasks and execute solutions effectively.
• Participate in daily standups and actively contribute to a transparent and collaborative Scrum team environment.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to both internal and external stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications:
• Excellent professional hands-on experience with full-stack development (minimum of 4+ years)
• 2+ years of hands-on development using Scala
• 2+ years of hands-on development using typescript with Angular as a framework
• Solid understanding of functional programming concepts
• A strong track record of working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
• The ability to think critically, analyze situations, and propose well-considered solutions.
• A passion for clean code, maintainability, and best practices.
• Ability to work between 10 AM - 4 PM MT (flexible within PT-ET range) Application Process: Below you'll find an outline of the interview plan for our Fullstack (Scala/Java/Kotlin/Angular) positions. • 30-minute screening with a member of our Recruitment team
• 1-hour Google meet/Zoom technical interview with one of our senior-principal-level engineers
• 30-minute technical/cultural interview with a Tech9 hiring manager
