- Identify and suggest improvement projects to reduce CSI cost, risk and/or increase quality.
- Manage projects to ensure they are completed on-time, within budget, and meeting all functional and business system requirements.
- Manage the production support services. Namely, identifying and resolving repetitive and major production issues that are affecting department performance especially when resolutions of such issues require technical solutions.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of existing operational processes, identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Execute process time studies and balancing exercises together with production to improve throughput and efficiency of lines.
- Develop annual goals/objectives and critical KPIs in line with site objectives and strategy and communicate to the Management Team to achieve consensus, support and buy-in for change programs.
- Understand key performance indicators and establish robust tracking mechanisms to supervise operational performance. Analyze data, generate reports, and provide insights to partners to drive data-driven decision-making and operational excellence.
- Develop and lead site programs such as 5S, SMED, Kaizen, value stream mapping, tier meetings, KPI boards, problem solving, etc.
- Be change champion for site programs and projects by communicating changes, engaging stakeholders, and driving adoption of new processes or systems. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruption during implementation.
- Provide training and coaching to employees on operational excellence principles, methodologies, and tools. Cultivate a culture of collaboration and empower employees to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Keep relevant stakeholders informed of Costa Rica projects and ensure frequent and timely follow-up on deliveries from stakeholders outside CR engineering team, such as technical operations, supply chain, regulatory affairs and product management.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
- Bachelors degree in industrial engineering or similar (Master's degree is preferred) and at least 7+ years of continuous improvement experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong project management and change management skills required.
- A proven track record of cost reduction and work simplification
- Creative individual who is able to communicate and coordinate good ideas through to implementation. Ability to communicate well, both orally and written
- Six Sigma Green Belt desired & Solid understanding of Lean Principles is a must.
- Familiarity with programs such as Excel, AutoCad, SolidWorks, MiniTab, Microsoft Word, Power Point, PowerBI, etc.
- Thorough understanding of medical device manufacturing, especially as it relates to FDA (GMP) manufacturing requirements
