The Value Strategy Lead is a key role at AstraZeneca, reporting to the Market Access Director. This role focuses on defining and developing the market access strategy, specifically the Value Proposition Strategy, including economic modeling, HEOR, Pricing, Data Generation, and Value-based Health Care initiatives, and integrating it into Brand Plans. The Value Strategy Lead must showcase exceptional strategic thinking, collaborate across functions, and introduce innovative approaches to a diverse payor landscape.


  • Define Pricing Strategies and Assess Economic Modeling
  • Collaborate with Medical for Evidence Generation Plan
  • Utilize Data Analytics for Access priorities
  • Define VBHC initiatives and IVS resources
  • Stay updated on Market Access trends, technologies, and innovations
  • Coordinate with Brand Strategic Teams and Align with Plans
  • Engage with Global and Regional teams
  • Contribute to Government Affairs and Advocacy
  • Act as a Market Access Subject Matter Expert
  • Advocate for the payer perspective in brand strategy
  • Represent Market Access in cross-functional teams
  • Lead alignment with Patient Support/Access Programs
  • Support early access programs for AZ products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional areas for business objectives
  • Ensure 100% Compliance with company policies and ethical standards
  • Participate in project teams and special projects

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in biomedical science, business, economy, or political sciences/public policy (mandatory)
  • Postgraduate qualification in related fields (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Market Access landscape
  • Experience in Economic Modelling, Data Generation, and VBHC
  • Experience in Payer, HTA, or health policy
  • Previous drug development/commercialization experience
  • Skills in leadership, problem-solving, influencing, and negotiation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise judgment
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Adaptable to a dynamic landscape
  • Understanding of commercial success drivers
  • Knowledge of payer and HCP customer needs
  • Familiarity with new molecule development
  • Ability to anticipate payer environment changes
