    Job Description

    SUMMARY: This role is pivotal in guiding, mentoring, and developing the planning team, emphasizing the scaling of production planning and the manufacturing processes tied to the global corporate SIOP. The individual will oversee the coordination of materials essential for manufacturing and the scheduling of activities to support various product lines.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

    Business Essentials

    Ensure adherence to local and corporate regulations, policies, and procedures regarding Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance. Lead discussions with clients regarding delivery timelines. Analyze, propose, and implement processes to ensure precise inventory control of raw materials and other supplies. Develop strategic goals focusing on quality, cost efficiency, flexibility, productivity, and speed. Consistently deliver products and services that meet customer expectations. Encourage junior colleagues to embrace continuous process improvement as a standard practice. Identify risks impacting supply, transformation, delivery, and customer demand, and independently establish mitigation strategies. Utilize process mapping, quality improvement, and visualization tools to identify, quantify, and rectify root causes of issues.

    Execution, Scheduling, and Control

    Recognized as the authority in the APS system utilizing Kinaxis-Rapid Response. Implement and select suitable scheduling techniques to manage capacity at work centers, including finite, infinite, forward, and backward scheduling, ensuring adequate capacity for MRP implementation through CRP. Recommend and apply enhancements to production control methodologies. Collaborate with manufacturing and materials management teams to align build plans through the SIOP process. Expert in calculating efficiency, utilization, and productivity metrics.

    Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

    Collaborate to align materials management strategies with business objectives in sales, marketing, finance, and manufacturing using Kinaxis-Rapid Response and SIOP. Assess capacity needs to meet anticipated demand, execute resultant plans, and update planning and financial data accordingly. Comprehend the outputs of materials requirement planning (MRP), capacity management, and advanced planning system technologies. Capable of discussing and demonstrating the MRP gross-to-net explosion process, understanding planning time fences in MRP, and defining replenishment order types in the MRP grid. Proficient in order rescheduling in MRP and interpreting various MRP output reports. Knowledgeable about the timing for MRP generation and detailed capacity planning (CRP), including components necessary for effective CRP execution. Advocate for the use of EPICOR/APS tools over manual or isolated spreadsheets.

    Supply Chain & Inventory Management

    Recognize that supply chain management encompasses all aspects of the movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods from origin to consumption. Demonstrate the ability to visualize the entire process and assist in identifying problem areas using process mapping, quality improvement, and visualization tools to locate, quantify, and resolve root causes of issues. Conduct regular evaluations to maintain processes by collecting relevant information from knowledgeable sources and tracing these to problems, potential causes, and root causes. Actively participate in departmental inventory management strategies and objectives. Apply trade-off analysis to balance demand and supply requirements. Understand various inventory classes (raw materials, WIP, finished goods, MRO, service parts, damaged, and obsolete). Differentiate between independent and dependent demand inventory. Collaborate with the Purchasing team to lead efforts in balancing demand and supply while maintaining healthy inventory levels for the assigned processes/products.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree with over 6 years of relevant experience and/or training.

    Proficient in personal computer skills, including email, record keeping, routine database management, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    • Ability to thrive in a self-managed work team environment and adapt to various work schedules. Advanced proficiency in written and oral English communication skills is essential.
    • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Able to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • Proficient in solving practical problems and managing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
    • Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
    • A seasoned professional with extensive experience and expertise in a specialized field. Applies comprehensive knowledge to resolve complex issues creatively. Possesses full knowledge of related disciplines and utilizes in-depth understanding of business unit functions and interdependencies. Recognized as an expert within the work group.
    • Develops solutions to diverse, high-complexity business challenges requiring regular ingenuity and creativity. Analysis of situations or data necessitates an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for achieving results. Holds specialized knowledge of various alternatives and their business impacts. Frequently encounters unique challenges, with solutions potentially setting precedents for future decisions.
    • Acts as a consultant to management and serves as a spokesperson for the organization on significant matters related to its policies, projects, or objectives. Employs diplomacy and tact to defuse high-tension situations, particularly with senior-level internal and external contacts. May escalate serious issues to management when necessary.
