Network Administrator II

Reports to:
Network Manager

Role Summary

The Network Administrator II is a senior technical role responsible for the design, operation, security, and optimization of the organization's physical and virtual network infrastructure.

This position focuses on advanced network operations, complex incident resolution, large-scale infrastructure projects, and strict adherence to security and quality management frameworks (QMS and ISMS).

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-availability network solutions.
Lead network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and architectural improvements.
Administer and resolve IT tickets (incidents, service requests, changes, and problems) with full documentation and SLA compliance.
Implement advanced network security controls, including attack mitigation, threat containment, and incident response.
Manage and fine-tune network monitoring systems to proactively identify performance, availability, and security issues.
Perform root cause analysis for complex network incidents and implement long-term corrective actions.
Configure, validate, and monitor backups of critical systems and participate in disaster recovery processes.
Contribute to network architecture design, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
Develop, review, and enforce advanced network security policies and procedures.
Automate network monitoring, reporting, and operational tasks where applicable.
Provide technical training to end users on network usage and security best practices, including training delivery through Moodle.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date network diagrams, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
Support technical evaluations, vendor coordination, and solution validation for network services and technologies.
Stay current with emerging networking technologies, security threats, and industry best practices.
Complete required training or certifications as defined by management.

Authority & Accountability
Execute and approve critical network configuration changes and security policy updates.
Lead technical response to network security incidents and major service disruptions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure a resilient, secure, and well-integrated network environment.

Requirements

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience administering physical and virtual network infrastructures.

Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall technologies
Strong experience in network security, monitoring, and incident response
Proven analytical and troubleshooting capabilities

Certifications:
CCNP or equivalent (additional certifications may be required based on organizational needs).

Performance Evaluation

Performance is measured based on:
Stability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure
Effectiveness in resolving complex incidents and meeting SLAs
Quality of documentation and operational execution
Contribution to QMS and ISMS compliance
Achievement of assigned technical objectives
