    Overview of role/responsibilities for the intern

    This is intended to be a brief overview, to help the candidate get a better idea of the type of work they'll be doing this summer.

    The intern will be exposed to the different but necessary stages of software engineering that are needed to process and test real-time news for our customers.

    • Work with team members to understand feeds handlers' development process with focus on QA monitoring with automation.
    • Get familiar with existing testing procedures
    • Improve and automate testing procedure
    • Use python/C++/C languages
    • Store all QA properties in AWS S3 or Google Cloud bucket
    • Create platform to support implemented tools
    • Get Familiar with existing testing procedures and work with team members to understand the framework

    Qualifications:

    Please keep in mind these are intern candidates, identify "must-have's vs. nice to have's.

    Must-Haves:

    • Pursuing a degree in one of the following majors:
      • Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics/Data Science, Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics or related subject
    • experience with python/C++/C languages
    • understanding of AWS S3 or Google Cloud buckets
    • basic understanding of cloud technologies
    • experience with Unix/Linux & file system
    • understanding of engineering processes
    • understanding of agile principles
    • Anticipated graduation date of June 2025
    • Must be self-motivated; a self-starter or problem-solver.
    • Must be a clear communicator.

    Nice to Haves:

    • Experience working in remote linux environments
    • Experience writing regression/integration tests
    • Experience with Git or other version control system
    • experience with AI processes
    • experience with QA automation
    • experience with AWS services

    • experience with OpenSearch
