Global Financial Services (GFS) was formed in Q3 2018 through the merger of Global Finance Operations, Integrated Finance Solutions and Cash Generation.

GFS is at the heart of the Finance function - accountable to the AstraZeneca (AZ) Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes that enable our customers to focus on AZ's strategic priorities.


The creation of the Global Financial Services (GFS) centers in Warsaw (Poland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and San José (Costa Rica) will transform the AZ Middle Office and Back Office to a central function, supporting the business regions through simplification, standardization across the globe, and a structure that is scalable to support the bold ambition of becoming a $50bn company by 2025.


We have exciting opportunities to join our GFS Center in San José, which will establish best practices and be responsible for providing support to embedded finance (CFOs and country business partners and or BPs in Manufacturing).


Role Profile


This
Accounts Payable Business Analyst - RDU is responsible for managing Accounts Payable activities within the Purchase to Pay tower of the Global Finance Business Services organization.

The role will support the execution of the global process design, the implementation of service delivery model and the development of the process roadmap for the Accounts Payable process.

General Responsibilities

Process Design and Operations

  • Documentation of process design, desktop procedures, governance frameworks, operational templates, policies and training materials
  • Monitor the daytoday Accounts Payable activities executed by the 3rd party managed service provider to ensure achievement of agreed upon SLAs / KPIs
  • Analyze exceptions to the standard process in order to resolve open and/or outstanding cases.
  • Assist the 3rd party service provide to resolve the high complexity cases and escalate within the AstraZeneca organization to obtain timely resolution.
  • Work directly with IT Department to troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with the adequate resources to remove any blockers that might be an impediment for the operation.
  • Lead process training sessions with internal and external stakeholders; or coordinate with the respective organizations responsible to ensure proper education and information is conveyed to the relevant parties.
  • Develop reporting to monitor the process health and facilitate the identification of exceptions to the standard global process. Once isolated, create actionable plans and execute them along with the right resources to eliminate or mitigate them.
  • Monitor the overall process health; review metrics and manage performance against agreed targets holding the internal and external service provider accountable for delivery to the agreed metrics.
  • Monitor controls and ensure adherence to the AstraZeneca guidelines and policies.
  • Execute the corresponding controls in scope and monitor the delivery of the controls in scope of the 3rd party managed service provider as per the documented guidelines.
  • Act as approver on systems that will require review as pertinenet (SAP, Concur, etc)
  • Clear focus on endtoend process performance across the finance organization
Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Understand the root cause of the service issues in order to resolve process related escalations and identify continuous improvement and transformation opportunities from a delivery / service perspective.
  • Create and execute action plans based on the business needs and company targets.
  • Manage the 3rd party managed service provider priorities based on the seasonality and business needs, ensuring AstraZeneca's policies and targets are met and adhered to.
  • Monitor and track effects of continuous improvement initiatives to ensure benefits are being realized.
Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a point for process escalations
  • Act as point of contact for projects and initiatives that might impact the P2P organization.
  • Researches and responds to escalated inquiries from internal and external customers in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
  • Attend key governance meetings and provide inputs as required, in a proactive, strategic and data driven fashion.
