A Senior AWS DevOps Engineer at Oceans can expect to work on multiple projects, work with a cross-functional team, and are transparent about time and tasks to help clients understand the progress of their projects.

Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for migrating portal applications to containerized forms, migrating to GitHub, and working through the backlog of DevOps / CloudOps tickets. They should have strong English proficiency, extensive experience in Cloud/Application Development/Platform engineering, and proficiency in Java and Python for containerization. Familiarity with Azure and related services, distributed tracing, health checks, dashboards, logging, and APIs at scale is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Migration of portal applications to containerized forms.
• Migration to GitHub.
• Work through the backlog of DevOps / CloudOps tickets.

Job Requirements

• Great English proficiency (B2+ written and spoken).
• 8+ years of working experience with Cloud/Application Development/Platform engineering.
• Impeccable punctuality; being on time for meetings is crucial.
• Familiarity with Java and Python and related build tools (while these are not developer roles, familiarity with the tool chain is needed)
• Working experience with AWS and related services such as:
• API Gateway, CloudFront, Elasticsearch, Fargate, Load Balancers, OpenSearch, S3, RDS, R53, etc.
• Containerized workflows with Docker, ECS and ECR
• Basic understanding of AWS networking including VPCs, Subnets, Firewall, TLS, etc.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools for scripting and automation.
• Experience setting up build and deployment pipelines and related developer workflows in tools like: Jenkins, GitHub, CodeBuild/CodeDeploy

Nice to have

• Knowledge of security best practices.
• Automation-first mindset.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time consultancy, with up to 40 weekly hours during regular business times. We operate under a flexible core hours policy to accommodate various schedules, allowing consultants to perform during their peak productivity times. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to work remotely.
