ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


We are seeking a new team member for our Studio AI team to deliver analytics products such as Digital Feedback Loop.

Who you will work with:


This is a new senior - level role that will interact closely with globally distributed UI developers, back-end and edge developers, data engineers, architects, and stakeholders across the various Studio groups in Engineering.

You will collaborate cross-functionally as needed with product managers, professional services, technologists, and customer-facing teams. You will report to a regional manager in the Studio AI directorate in Engineering.


What you'll do / y

our responsibilities:


You will be an essential technical contributor in delivering a sustainable, cloud-native, cloud-agnostic software ecosystem for our customers to integrate their RTOS devices with the cloud and leverage the benefits of Ai.

Shared common architecture within several AI projects.

  • Pair up with developers on your AI team to mentor and uplevel them in knowledge and skills for how to effectively build quality (not limited to testing) into their own code.
  • Participate in hiring, then mentoring, lessexperienced SDETs as the team grows.
  • Advise AI developers on how they can build testability into the software delivered by the team, and how to streamline the experiences of our customers' developers in creating and testing their code.
  • Support integration and evolution of analytic models into the Studio Test Automation Framework to improve test case selection, test case prioritization, defect prediction, and other types of CI/CD intelligence.

  • Comprehensive test strategy spanning all aspects of building quality into the platform, including use of reviews and static & dynamic analysis tools.
  • Test implementation and automation spanning all development responsibilities for V&V (verification and validation: unit tests, feature tests, and some testing on performance, scalability, and security).

Qualifications - MUST HAVE:


  • BSc _(or equivalent work experience)_ in Computer Science, Computer / Electrical / Software / Systems / Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Math / Physics, or another STEM field.
  • Advanced degrees (e.g., MSc, MBA, or PhD) are appreciated, but not required.
  • 5+ years working in software development arena, with 4+ years in a testfocused role _(career gaps are ok; life happens)_
  • Programming skills in at least one higherlevel language _(_e.g., Python, C/C++_)_ _and SQL.
  • Ability and experience to 'think like a tester' and to put yourself into your users' shoes:
  • knowing how to test to find all the ways it doesn't work [well], vs. testing to show that it does work in a happy path scenario.
- understanding the key personas and user journeys for the software, and how to evaluate both functionality and architectural qualities from the user's perspective.

  • Exceptional, inclusive, collaborative team player comfortable with working in diverse, distributed agile environments and pairing with developers.
