Join our team We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join Thomson Reuters Latin America General Accounting Operations (AO) located in San Jose (Heredia), Costa Rica.

The AO is a key element of the company's strategy to leverage best practices, support future acquisitions and growth, and streamline processes and activities across the organization and the world to return value to our customers by becoming more effective and efficient.

This position is responsible for performing accounting activities such as balance sheet account reconciliations and open item resolution for the Latin America region on a monthly basis and partners with other departments to leverage systems and resources.


About the Role:

In this opportunity as an
Accounting Analyst, you will:

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Open items followup and escalation with various departments.
  • Perform monthend close responsibilities with a complete understanding of the close process and the financial framework within an SAP environment to achieve complete, accurate and compliant financial statements.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with partnering organizations by providing regular and frequent communications.
  • Assist in monthly financial reporting; prepare analysis of accounts as requested.
  • Assist in projects on process improvements as needed.
  • Document processes

About You
You're a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required, OR equivalent qualification OR significant development after specialized vocational training OR substantial professional development after High School Degree.
  • 35 years of professional accounting experience with multinational companies in reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and monthend close activities.
  • Knowledge of common accounting procedures.
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a competence in presenting in a professional and influential manner.
  • Attention to fine detail and demonstrate highlevel of accuracy.
  • Enterprise resource planning ERP software — for example, SAP, Oracle, BEx, BlackLine.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Portuguese preferred but not required.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Strong collaboration skills and effective in a team environment; proven ability to effectively transfer knowledge to build team competence.
