What Engineering Prgrm/Project Mgmt contributes to Cardinal Health

Program/Project Management is responsible for managing the execution of programs and/or projects consisting of single or multiple projects and/or programs. May manage project and/or program managers within assigned program and/or project. Works within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while managing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.

Accountabilities

  • Troubleshoot and implement improvements to production processes using appropriate analytical methods and techniques, particularly Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Provide insightful technical advice, leadership, and expertise on advanced quality improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Specify, procure, install, and debug production machinery or processes. Assure compliance to safety, ergonomic, and validation requirements.
  • Design and build tooling and fixtures as required.
  • Serve as team lead for the plant on product launch and improvement initiatives.
  • Create, modify and approve production procedures and other documentation within the appropriate change control system. Provide initiative for change to systems in need of improvement.
  • Formulate and execute experiments, test plans, and validations. Collect and analyze data. Generate protocols and reports.
  • Provide guidance to other engineers on planning and executing validations activities.
  • Provide technical advice, leadership, and expertise on advanced projects related to process development and improvement.
  • Act as deputy for Project Engineering Manager as required.
  • Supervise engineers or technicians as assigned.
  • Provide leadership, initiative, and support within engineering department and as liaison with other functions.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent certifications and experience. Master’s desirable.
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
  • Advanced English skills (written and spoken) required.
  • Demonstrated application of sound problem-solving and logic to complex process issues.
  • Record of project leadership, cost reduction, and quality improvement in production processes.
  • Strong competence with personal computer software for data analysis and project management.
  • Six Sigma Tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, Project Management, Presentations, and demonstrated leadership on projects of broad scope.
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • GMPS and process validation experience.
  • Ability to train and coach others from technical expertise.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in manufacturing systems, or other applicable field.
  • Supervision of direct reports.
  • CAD/Solid Modeling skills.
  • Strong validation experience.
  • Dealing with ambiguity, creativity, customer focus, timely decision making, decision quality, function/technical skills, innovation management, learning on the fly, listening, managing and measuring work, organizing, perseverance, planning, presentation skills, priority setting, problem solving, process management, results-driven, managing through systems, technical learning, total work systems (lean/six sigma), and written communications.
