Job Description

We’re looking for passionate a SQL Developer @ The Blackstone Group for the Credit Team who can contribute in the development of SQL databases for a wide variety of applications and business uses. Candidates must have experience writing new MS-SQL queries, stored procedures & functions and understanding existing complex ones. They must be able to comprehend and troubleshoot existing code in order to eventually propose performance improvements and code refactorization.

Responsibilities

  • Development of high quality database solutions.
  • Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL.
  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements.
  • Suggest new queries.
  • Understand in depth and troubleshoot existing code.
  • Propose refactorization and modularization of existing large stored procedures and functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex methodologies and results to the technical team.
  • Be able to take requirements in from business stake holders on data base needs and build on them.
  • Collaborate with business owners, end users, and other stakeholders to identify needs and goals and work collaboratively to design and build data base solutions.
  • Advise on SQL development best practices and performance optimization strategies.

    • Mandatory Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in SQL development or similar function
  • Ability to create and design best-practice data base solutions
  • Proven Microsoft T-SQL skills
  • Ability to understand SQL queries, query profiles and execution plans
  • Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, NoSQL or other database technology
  • Experience with relational batabase systems and Business Interlligence
  • Experience with ETL design and data processing
  • Experience developing complex queries, stored procedures, user defined functions and performance tuning
  • Experience identifying performance bottlenecks on queries
  • Experience with software quality, testing procedures and build automation tools
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design and usage

    • Highly Desired Skills

  • Good understanding of portfolio accounting.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income

  • Experience with Python, F#, C#, R, Scala, Java
  • Experience with SSIS
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services and DAX
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with Azure Automation
  • Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or HDInsight, Hive, Pig, Python, Spark, Oozie, or any of the other tools with the Hadoop ecosystem
  • Experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Lake Analytics
  • Experience with Predictive analytics: R, Azure Machine Learning
