The Challenge

This highly visible role will report to the VP, Investor Relations and will be responsible for the operations of Adobe’s investor relations program. This individual will work closely with Adobe’s executive, finance, product, legal and marketing teams to communicate with the sell-side research and buy-side investment communities. The Director, Investor Relations will help design operational standard methodologies for Adobe’s investor relations program. Additionally, this role will be responsible for constructing a compelling communications strategy to drive shareholder value. This will be achieved by capitalizing on this unique position within Adobe to help shape strategic, financial and operating decisions. The Director will also cultivate new and innovative ways to communicate our unique value proposition to investors. Emphasizing the strength of our model and educating analysts on the drivers of long-term growth will be important. The ability to partner across every level at Adobe Critical to the success of this role. Promoting the highest levels of integrity to all of our partners is also key. In addition to continually building and maintaining trust with management and the investment community.

What you’ll do

  • Design the Adobe’s investor communication approach and strategy
  • Build a vision for an outstanding investor relations program and execute on this vision by developing and adopting operational systems, processes, protocols, and standard methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the IR team and company executives to create and distribute strategic, value-driving investment messages, including news releases, board and investor meeting materials, and other key collateral for internal and external communications.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports to inform Adobe’s management team regarding peer company results and practices. Remain current on all Adobe and competitor business activities to effectively articulate Adobe’s growth strategy and competitive advantages.
  • Appropriately advance Adobe’s financial narrative as a key contributor to quarterly earnings and other press releases, call scripts, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with finance and business colleagues to build sophisticated financial models.
  • Build strong internal networks, engaging others throughout the company to cultivate deep subject matter expertise across multiple product areas.
  • Provide feedback to senior management related to discussions with the investment community and sentiment towards the company's business strategies, market developments, and external events.
  • Assist with presentations for investor, corporate communications and marketing initiatives, customer events and investor conferences, road shows and other activities as necessary.
  • Build network of IR professionals to inform best in class practices and track industry trends.
  • What you need to succeed

  • 12+ years of experience in an investor relations or finance role, investment management or research, investment banking, capital markets, communications or other industry-related work experience, ideally in the technology sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA strongly preferred, ideally in accounting, finance, accounting or economics or equivalent work experience.
  • Self-starter, driven by intellectual curiosity and a desire for operational excellence, with an ability to both accept and communicate critical feedback
  • Ability to gain quickly a sophisticated understanding of Adobe’s products, markets, customers, partners, vision/strategy, customer challenges, and the “Adobe story” as well as Adobe’s financial model, financial terms e.g. ARR, RPO, etc.
  • Experience and understanding of the SaaS business model, including strong understanding of software and technology industry market trends, terminology and business models.
  • Knowledge of industry vocabulary e.g. web, publishing, CXM, video, mobile, AI/ML, privacy, CDP, cloud as well as the competitive landscape
  • Familiarity with disclosure rules, earnings process, Regulation FD, Regulation G, and SEC filings, e.g. 10-Qs and 10-Ks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and an ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to break down complex ideas and issues and communicate in simple terms to different levels of the organization.
  • Ability to drive alignment on priorities with senior management.
  • Ability to manage priorities under pressure and bring exceptional intellectual horsepower.
  • Demonstrate creativity and collaborative attitude across a wide range of teams to create interesting and meaningful content and messaging.
