In order to create more process efficiency, centralization and standardization in the Global Tax organization, Zoetis organized a Regional Tax Center based in San Jose, Costa Rica and co-located with the Zoetis Shared Service Center Costa Rica ("ZFS”) .

This permanent position will report to the Regional Indirect Tax Supervisor and will support the execution of activities related to:

  • Tax Compliance in different locations across Latin-America for Indirect Taxes.
  • Tax Accounting for the assigned countries.
  • Monthly reconciliations for the tax accounts.

    • Key attributes for this role include:

  • Experience in identifying and analyzing accounting issues and related implications.
  • Strong accounting analytic skills and knowledge.
  • Good analytical skills. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience preparing accounts reconciliations and follow up of open items.
  • Knowledge of Indirect tax calculation.
  • Good organization, communication and planning skills.
  • Ability to apply and improve procedures and processes and to ensure quality and efficiency in work product of team.
  • Ability to work in culturally diverse teams and with various stakeholders.

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Indirect tax returns: VAT returns, VAT Withholding tax returns, Gross Income tax returns, informative returns as Sale and Purchase Books, and others.
  • Prepare tax journal entries for posting to SAP.
  • Assist in providing tax technical support for countries covered by the Regional Tax Center in conjunction with local external advisors.
  • Assist in providing support for tax authority audits / queries for countries within covered region with the preparation of the requirements.
  • Gather, organize and efficiently use data from general ledger for the tax accounting process.
  • Meet deliverable deadlines as established by tax calendar for Indirect tax compliance requirements and deliverables.
  • Monitor activities related to indirect tax compliance for entities within region, including gathering of data and information needs, to ensure the timely completion of indirect tax returns.
  • Initiate payment requests for various tax payments due to tax authorities.
  • Perform tax account reconciliations in a monthly basis.
  • Assist in preparing tax requirements for external financial audits.
  • Administrative tasks related to tax services as vendors and purchase orders creation and others.

    • Qualifications :

  • University degree in Accounting, supplementary tax education is a plus.
  • Professional accountancy qualification.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience with an emphasis on tax and month-end accounting, reporting and tax compliance.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. French optional.
  • Strong SAP knowledge.
