Come and join the Intel Costa Rica team as a System and Silicon Debug Engineer.

Within this role you will be responsible for understanding, debugging, analyzing and root causing silicon defects as well as silicon bugs in the manufacturing and validation environments. Responsible for solving complex problems from customers related to the silicon products and providing containment and root cause solutions for those problems. It is required to monitor the product quality health and analyzing any changes in behavior that will require actions from the engineering team in order to contain and solve. You will be the in charge of interacting with teams from all the different areas of product development including design, validation, development, production, planning.

The Systems and Silicon Debug Engineer owns the definition and implementation of the right hardware solutions for the program that will enable the rest of debuggers to deliver optimal results. Is responsible for ensuring the testability and manufacturability of integrated circuits from the component feasibility stage through production ramp. Make significant contributions to design, development and validation of testability circuits. Works in the development, evaluation and debug of complex test methods. Develops and debugs complex software and firmware programs to understand architectural behaviors drive complex test content design. You will create and test validation and production test hardware solutions. Test, validate, modify and redesign circuits to guarantee component margin to specification.

This role analyzes and evaluates component specification versus performance to ensure optimal match of component requirements with production equipment capability with specific emphasis on yield analysis and bin split capability. Analyzes early customer returns with emphasis on driving test hole closure activities. Creates and applies concepts for optimizing component production relative to both quality and cost constraints. Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Electric, Electronic, Computer or Software Engineering
  • At least 6 years of experience in the area of product development and/or product validation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of: Computer architecture, scripting and/or programming, unix environment and digital electronics
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule, prioritize and deliver results for the tasks assigned with autonomy
  • Desire to work in a highly diverse and highly challenging environment
  • English level Advanced

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with System and/or Platform Debug
  • Experience with Xeon Architecture and/or Intel Architecture
  • Experience programing/scripting in Python, Perl and object oriented language
  • Experience with assembly and firmware code
