The Opportunity

A member of the global Revenue Accounting and Operations (RAO) team, the Manager, Revenue Accounting will report directly to the Director of Revenue Accounting and own technical accounting conclusions for new products, go-to-market motions, key partnerships, large revenue generating arrangements, new system implementations, as well as own 10-Q and 10-K revenue disclosures. This role and the Technical Revenue Accounting team will also serve as the “hub” for key RAO initiatives, providing reporting and coordination across RAO functions.

This individual will join an organization that includes Revenue Accounting, Revenue Assurance, Professional Services Operations, Royalty Operations, and Revenue Systems and Reporting functions. We work with various functions throughout the Company to fulfill these responsibilities including product teams, Pricing Operations, External and SEC reporting, Legal, FP&A, IT, business unit leaders, and others.

What You'll Do

  • Includes the following responsibilities (not complete and other duties may also be assigned):
  • Be a key resource/subject matter authority for revenue recognition conclusions for the Revenue Accounting and Operations organization
  • Exercise judgment within defined policies and authoritative literature to resolve appropriate action related to revenue-related transactions and write related technical memos
  • Implement timely reporting and process improvements based upon industry trends, authoritative literature and business objectives
  • Be aware of relevant US GAAP and SEC developments to ensure revenue recognition policies and procedures align with developments
  • We work closely with IT development team to improve system processes and reporting outputs
  • Work with external auditors to discuss accounting approaches and conclusions
  • Maintain SOX controls and assist in the automation of those controls
  • Support acquisition integration
  • Drive key annual SOX initiatives
  • Communicate clearly and tailor communications based on the audience
  • What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year university
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Accounting / Finance, including experience with software and service arrangements
  • Extensive experience in the application ASC606 and all other current authoritative literature related to revenue recognition is required
  • Strong understanding of external reporting requirements related to revenue
  • CPA or equivalent required
  • Strong organization skills and self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated experience in interacting with all levels of management
  • Exceptional written communication – communicate complicated accounting topics in documentation that is clear and consumable by multiple audiences
  • Excellent skills with MS Office software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
