Job Summary

& Responsibilities
  • Leads, oversees and manages all Costa Rica manufacturing operations, including manufacturing itself, production control, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, inventory control, and materials functions, such as purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities.
  • Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with Managers of Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Engineering. Translates Customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products.
  • Develops Operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures.
  • Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.
  • Responsible for Patient Safety, Quality Compliance, and cost of manufacturing Nevro products.
  • Site stewart to ensure environmental compliance
  • Responsible to support Product analysis/investigation, New Product Introduction, Metrology, Microbiology, and future product transfers into CR
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Working in accordance with Quality System procedures and actively enforces its objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management or equivalent is required. MBA is preferred.
  • Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Skills and Knowledge

  • 15+ years manufacturing operations leadership experience in the Medical Device industry.
  • Prior experience working with US companies a plus.
  • Knowledgeable with the FDA Submission process, ISO Requirements and QSR requirements
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated track record of significant performance improvement through the successful development of a lean/six sigma culture, and implementation of the tools.
  • Strong developer of People and Teams, believing it a critical component in driving organizational change and effectiveness.
  • Strong financial acumen with strong understanding of manufacturing levers influencing quarterly outcomes
  • Is highly autonomous and self‐directed and possesses a high sense of urgency
  • Very resourceful, combining strong manufacturing and technical abilities with good overall management acumen
  • Has, and sets, high expectations for him/herself and the organization; driven by metrics
