General summary
The Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible for recording, classifying, and summarizing accounting data to ensure the accuracy of collections, postings, and receipts. The Senior Accounting Clerk mentors and trains other accounting staff members. This position may perform other accounting functions according to established processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Processing bi-weekly payroll and all related obligations. 40%
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing procedures, including posting of journal entries into the general ledger system, accompanied by appropriate supporting documentation to record periodic activity in the GL for assigned entities. 15%
- Perform reconciliation of accounts from the general ledger; creating monthly and ad hoc reports. 10%
- Research and correct reconciling items shown on GL reconciliations. 10%
- Assist the Accounting Manager to comply with local accounting requirements. 10%
- Process and record daily/weekly/monthly bank activity. 5%
- Assist in registering fixed assets into the accounting system. 5%
- Perform other duties, as assigned. 5%
Minimum requirements
Education: Bachelor's
Field of study: Public Accounting
Experience: 3 years Accounting experience including payroll and month end / year end close
