Position Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and internal communications programs at St. Jude Medical. This individual will work with the Human Resources department to develop and implement integrated campaigns for internal stakeholders, which support the company’s strategy and the assigned divisions’ business objectives. Also it will be responsible for supporting the managers to announce product/department and plant programs; media selection, content design and issues management communication. This person will also work on assigned communications projects.to supporting the Human Recourses department in administrative tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Responding to and proactively communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Building relationships with organization key players to enable effective, efficient communication and positioning of Costa Rica’s products and programs to other internal and external audiences.
  • Anticipating, planning for and managing issues in support of the company’s overall communications objectives.
  • Developing media toolkits, including internal news releases, backgrounders, media pitch documents, intranet stories, and social media or other key messaging for routine communications.
  • Providing input on departmental budget and strategic planning process; expected to execute against annual budget and operating plan.
  • Supporting the company’s presence at job fairs, conferences and community events.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

  • 4 years of University in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, graphic designer, Marketing or related field
  • Excellent writing ability, knowledge of AP style.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to independently manage media campaigns with limited manager oversight.
  • Excellent planning, organization and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
