The upcoming Four Seasons El Tamarindo Resort in Jalisco, Mexico rests on 2,100 acres of a protected eco reserve on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. The resort sprawls across an enchanting natural preserve and is embellished by the emerald-colored pacific coast. The Executive Chef will demonstrate the following key characteristics:

  • People connector; has the ability to build strong partnerships and relationships with peers and employees.

  • Ability to develop strong and effective interdepartmental relationships, big picture, and holistic approach.

  • Guest centric, hands-on approach.

  • Master Your Craft:

    The Executive Chef ensures the smooth running of the kitchen department, maintaining the Four Seasons quality of product and service to all outlets including the Staff Restaurant. The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of the Kitchen operation including menu planning, food costs, banquet events, hygiene and sanitation, recruitment, retention, and development of chefs within the kitchen department.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 6-7 years of kitchen management experience in a 5-star hotel/resorts

  • Technical experience in various world cuisines is preferred

  • The passion of a leader with aptitude, management skills, and upward mobility, and desire to thrive as Executive Chef for the resort for 3-5 years.

  • Demonstrate adaptability to live in a remote location

  • Excellent English and Spanish (Preferred) language

  • Craftsmanship that yields a creative flair and current food trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare the Budget for Culinary.

  • Understanding of high-end luxury Resort product.

  • As a Department Leader, you will motivate and develop a team, leading by example at all times and instill a culture of continuous learning and improvement among your staff.

  • You actively participate in Employee Relations activities and programs

  • You are actively involved in identifying and assessing the needs of your team and investing in their career development through effective coaching, training, and by instilling company our values.

  • As Executive Chef you ensure the culinary department is kept in an organized manner in accordance with company philosophy and policies, maximizing efficiency and productivity and achieving established goals.

  • You work closely with other Food and Beverage Managers promoting harmony between all departments in and outside of the Food & Beverage Division.

  • When dealing with guests and internal customers you live by the Golden Rule.

  • You demonstrate high standard awareness, by setting example for standards execution, standards testing, and implementing action plans to achieve established product and service goals.

  • As a Department Head, you have a key involvement in preparing annual plans, forecasts, and managing expenses to meet departmental budgetary goals

  • As the Executive Chef, you are the face of Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo Culinary Experience within the resort and in the Community. You will use your unique personality and service style fulfilling the Four Seasons Brand and Resort standards creating a special and memorable experience!

  • Pre-opening experience is a plus!
