The upcoming Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo in Jalisco, Mexico rests on 3,000 acres of a protected natural reserve on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Most of its 155 rooms will boast exceptional panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, enveloped by the surrounding jungle and lush golf course.

The Assistant Director of People and Culture will demonstrate the following key characteristics: Highly motivated & self-starter. Proven ability to effectively lead in a variety of situations with different individuals or groups; flexible leadership style. Ability to develop strong and effective interdepartmental relationships, big picture and holistic approach.
Master Your Craft:
The Assistant Director of People & Culture will assist the Director of P&C with the direction of all aspects of the P&C division including benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and retention of staff, communication to staff, career development of staff, wage & hour compliance, training, workers’ compensation and legal matters related to hotel employees
Desired Skills and Experience: Resort Pre-Opening Experience Preferred. Experience required by the position is from two to four years of employment in a related position with the Hospitality Industry. Requires a general working knowledge of Mexican Labor laws. Understanding of high-end luxury Resort product. Demonstrate adaptability to live in a remote location. Excellent English and Spanish (Preferred) language. Act as an objective 3rd party in employee counseling, problem-solving or conflict situation and communicate to Director of P&C any circumstances that may raise legal issues for the Resort. Identify, analyze and initiate appropriate actions to resolve any unsatisfactory pattern of employee turnover. Manage the financial issues for the P&C budget including benefits, labor & salary reports, and plan cost effective events within the P&C budget guidelines. Conduct regular audits of insurance records, Social Security, vacation, and sick allowances. Maintain employment files and other records personally and through delegation in a detailed manner on paper and in the P&C computer systems. Organize and supervise all employee recreation programs include holiday parties, children’s party, general meetings etc. Respond to and attend any related hearings for all employee claims against the hotel. Actively support the Safety Committee. Ensure that the cafeteria, employee entrance, and lockers rooms are clean and orderly. As a Department Leader, you will motivate and develop a team, leading by example at all times and instill a culture of continuous learning and improvement among your staff. You actively participate in Employee Relations activities and programs. You are actively involved in identifying and assessing the needs of your team and investing in their career development through effective coaching, training, and by instilling company our values. When dealing with guests and internal customers you live by the Golden Rule. You demonstrate high standard awareness, by setting example for standards execution, standards testing, and implementing action plans to achieve established product and service goals. You will use your unique personality and service style fulfilling the Four Seasons Brand and Resort standards creating a special and memorable experience!
