Your Role
As a Sustainability Director (Regional Resilicence Leader) you are the primary Regional interface for the development, delivery and implementation of sustainable aspects of design. You must have the capability to grow and establish a healthy business around sustainability in our local and regional markets, by being able to identify leads, strategize and pitch winning opportunities, as well as sustain and develop new and existing client relationships. You will work with Gensler’s firmwide sustainability leaders to support sustainability, from project specifications and education programs to new sustainability service offerings.
What You Will Do
Accountable for the integration of performance-based environmental, social and wellbeing measures on all projects they are directing, and proactive involvement in the quality of integrated design across the region.
Ensures that project team understand and track key performance indicators on all projects in the office.
Responsible for advancing sustainable design culture within the Region, including mentoring, resources, discourse, initiatives and recruiting.
Mentors next generations of Sustainability Leaders.
Demonstrates a collaborative and integrated approach towards working with other disciplines in the Region to foster an understanding of how sustainable design integrates with other aspect of our work:
Management: responsible for integrating sustainable strategy with projects´ respective business drivers
Technical: responsible for integrating sustainable strategy that demonstrates craft and innovative through performance- based design solutions
Design: maintain a clear ability to see and communicate the design potential and resulting impact of performance driven solutions.
Engaged in extern promotional efforts regarding sustainable design, including leadership within the design community.
Able to establish business plans towards growth and positioning in the industry
Ability to nurture, grow, and maintain new and existing client relationships.
Develop and research new service offerings.
Your Qualifications
A degree in Sustainable building, architecture, engineering, interiors or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong knowledge of LEED, Well, Edge and other related certifications and their benefits.
Ability to create and successfully implement programs
Strong writing skills and technical presentation ability
Strong organization skills / Self- directed
Emotional intelligence
Proficient user of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Autodesk Revit as well as environmental analysis and quantitative plug – ins
Familiar with United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals
Experience with projects requiring multilateral cooperation and public- private partnerships
Familiar with technologies affecting the built environment such as clear energy, net – zero/ net positive design, smart grids, integration and behavioral user analysis
Understands life – cycle design and assessment processes
Research oriented and well versed in academic writing
Proficient with Environmental Analysis software a plus
Preferred, but not required: LEED Accredited
