The Software Engineer in Test II will work closely with our product and engineering teams. You will be present during all phases of the product lifecycle to ensure that new features are delivered defect-free and in a timely manner. You will also work on devising automated and manual scripts, work with integrated build systems, and proactively identify issues for each set of deliverables to ensure they meet or exceed expectations and contain no regressions. You would be a critical component of an exceptional technology team that delivers a variety of authentication and risk services for large enterprise call centers. Job Duties (Summary) Investigate test and production failures, perform root-cause analysis and create detailed high-quality error reports. Perform feature and API services testing across a wide span of platforms Review and analyze system specifications and design documents to understand the system and create an adequate testing approach Coordinate with other QA personnel to develop cost and time-effective test plans Develop automated test suites Execute and analyze the results of manual and automated test cases Thoroughly validate product functionality to ensure conformance with all specifications. Create comprehensive bug reports in JIRA for the development team. Help to recreate and troubleshoot issues. Conduct post-implementation thorough end-to-end testing Work closely with the product and design team to understand requirements. Verify functional requirements and regress test changes. Perform manual testing as needed. Qualifications/Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience 3-5 years in QA or DevOps or a combination of both Familiarity with JIRA Familiarity with Agile methodology and regression testing Knowledgeable about programming concepts needed to write code to test a web application. Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple teams Experience with Jira or other bug and issue tracking tools, SVN Git or other Source Code Management, and Agile development Ability to specify acceptance criteria for a product and write tests around acceptance criteria Familiarity with scripting languages like Python Familiarity with Linux environments and shells Experience with multiple QA and proxy tools such as Postman, Curl, Insomnia Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts. Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies. Passionate about quality and testing. Is excited to develop tests and work toward a functional, strong CI testing suite Maintains strong test discipline and best practices within a flexible agile development environment. Work closely with software engineers at a peer level and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Strive to understand the customer perspective and develop customer-driven test strategies. Willingness to go beyond a surface test case to determine root causes. Recommend and incorporate new ideas and best practices to the Quality Engineering practice.
