Role and Responsibility

The Product Management Director – Front End Design Authoring role is responsible for the development of product lifecycle, positioning in the market place of a product in Cadence’s front end solution. Monitors the development of business plans, managing lifecycles, and product positioning in the market place.

The ideal candidate possesses a working knowledge of PCB design gained through hands-on experience, clear communication skills demonstrated through published and/or presented material, and a passion to increase enterprise PCB market share by developing competitive product offerings and increasing end user productivity worldwide.

S/he will be responsible for product revenue growth and forecasting by gathering market requirements, recognizing macro trends in the relevant market segment, and analyzing competitive activities. The candidate will work with engineering, manufacturing and field teams as well as selected strategic partners to develop new products or enhance existing products, resolve product-related issues, create marketing and sales collateral, and present those materials in customer and public venues.

Position Requirements

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather market requirements directly from customers, industry analysis, partners, and other product management teams.
  • Identify innovative opportunities to improve customer productivity and translate those innovations into new sources of product revenue.
  • Identify new or evolving customer challenges and opportunities, synthesizing coherent offering and priority recommendationsAssess vertical and geographic markets and inflection pointsProactively evaluate industry driving forces, identify market opportunities, and deliver action plan recommendations
  • Monitor competitive activity to identify customer needs, opportunities, and threats
  • Feed market-based requirements into product engineering, including competitive analysis, SWOT analysis and opportunity analysis
  • Create and maintain sales and marketing collateral promoting the Allegro and OrCAD front end products to customer base focusing on value articulation and customer ROI
  • Collaborate with direct sales teams and channel partners for competitive replacement, focus on strategic accounts and identification of new business
  • Manage phases of the product lifecycle for assigned products.

    • Qualifications:

    BS/MSEE or equivalent industry experience required.

    Electronics product system/OEM company background preferred. Experience with printed circuit board design, with routing technology or library management expertise a plus.

    10 or more years of total relevant work experience with at least 5 years of product marketing / business development experience required

    Must have a comparative knowledge of electronic product creation with emphasis on PCB design including, but not limited to, system level design, PCB layout, integration with corporate systems for part and design life cycle management

    Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ecosystem development and collaboration experience

    Strong work ethic, proactive leadership and execution, and effective teamwork are essential

    Travel: Travel, including international travel, will be required.
