The Support Strategic Program Management Team is looking for a seasoned Program Manager to drive outcomes and enable support and customer success in a scalable, measurable, and repeatable fashion. We use program management best practices and partner with key stakeholders both within Support and across business functions to drive business transformation, organization readiness, and customer satisfaction. This function requires a proactive and self-driven team member with strong program management skills that is accountable for the successful launch and readiness for Cloudera’s Support organization of all products and services. 

A Day in the Life

You will manage multiple projects across one or more programs. In the morning, you could meet with subject matter experts to define a new process. Followed by an afternoon presenting project status and metrics to executives. Day to day activities will vary from business transformation projects to product lifecycle management. You will have to prioritize multiple projects to ensure work moves forward in a meaningful way each week to meet deadlines.

You Will

  • Lead cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts in the development, planning, and implementation of multiple and complex projects and/or programs by

    Understanding the business objectives and envision support goals, presenting the goals and business case with conviction and building cross-functional, executive, and stakeholder commitment

    Leveraging data to drive prioritization and decisions

    Developing multi-phased project plans, securing workstream resources, anticipating & mitigating risks and ensuring project deliverables are completed on time 

    Using strong leadership, influence, and persuasion skills to resolve issues and keep work on track while managing stakeholder engagement and expectations

    Developing strong communication plans to ensure all parties are consistently informed of status and raising escalations in a timely manner

    Managing project closeouts, running retrospective meetings, and using data to improve future projects

  • Lead Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (new, maintenance, and end of life) by:

    Ensuring support readiness across multiple workstreams (Example: support, technical, partner, learning, diagnostics, case systems)

    Partnering with engineering, product, and business operations (legal, marketing, sales, etc) to ensure readiness 

    Developing project plans, secure workstream resources, anticipate & mitigate risks and ensure project deliverables are completed on time 

    Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understanding their requirements and delivering expectations

    Proactively communicate necessary information to stakeholders and impacted Support departments (weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly)

    Identifying gaps in PLM process and propose/implement solutions to improve and streamline

    Measuring success/impact of each release and documenting and tracking release artifacts

    Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of initiatives and deliver regular progress and/or results to executives

  • You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 6+ years project/program management experience 

  • Comfortable managing complex programs with multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment while delivering on time, with quality

  • Proven ability to achieve results by influencing and persuading others

  • Able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities

  • Strong expertise into product lifecycle management in large cross-functional environments

  • A strong analytical and metrics-driven approach to creating substantiated solutions

  • Ability to make decisions with incomplete data in order to move work forward

  • Sufficient technical background to understand Cloudera products

  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and presentation techniques

  • Ability to execute independently and work with team members from all levels

  • Tenacity, resourcefulness, and resiliency to solve problems with little direction
