The Project Security Engineer is a member of Emerson’s Power and Water Solution (PWS) Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCE). This position will act as an integral part of a highly technical team focused on developing and delivering services and solutions to our customers. The level of technical expertise required to review and analyze specifications for the Project Security Engineer will help improving turnaround time of proposals and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
This role will be expected to become one of Emerson’s subject matter experts in PWS security products, solutions and compliance. The major responsibilities of the Project Security Engineer include providing guidance on Emerson PWS cybersecurity solutions to customers and internal Emerson stakeholders in addition to facilitate, maintain and track records on requirements to access customer sites. Therefore, in addition to good interpersonal skills, the engineer should possess excellent technical skills and be familiar with PWS cybersecurity solutions, process control and basic power generation and water/wastewater concepts. Facilitate, maintain and track site access requests and notifications in a timely manner. Consult and assist customers and stakeholders in development of cybersecurity plans and/or programs. Foster a positive environment for work and professional growth. Work as a team player within the CCE to address customer’s and stakeholders’ questions Maintain or improve customer satisfaction through group and individual effort. Develop assessment reports and suggest mitigation/remediation strategies. Implement recommended mitigation/remediation strategies. Assist on the developing of Emerson’s cybersecurity best practices and whitepapers related to security solutions. Interface with Emerson Field Support Engineers, regional offices and expert resources as needed to resolve issues. Continually and proactively increase one’s technical capabilities, growing and establishing higher levels of expertise. Help to enhance the value of the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence by contributing towards additional group activities/tasks, developing new internal/external solutions, and assisting with training or conferences (as appropriate). Other responsibilities as assigned by the Project Security Coordinator and/or management Requirements Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. Knowledge of cybersecurity appliances, applications, tools and techniques. Must be highly competent with Ovation, networking, PWS cybersecurity solutions, and antivirus solutions (Security and/or networking certifications are advantageous). Advanced level of English [B2] (additional languages are advantageous). Good interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills in a formal environment. The ability to work effectively with stakeholders and external customers is essential.
Working conditions The position requires up to 20% travel. The position requires availability to work different shifts, as required, including holidays, nights and weekends.
