Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

Essential Functions :

  • Create the process, systems and culture to enable a professional project management organization.
  • Act as an escalation point for systemic project issues and support removal of barriers to success.
  • Attract and retain top talent across the devices organization.
  • Provide Input into the BU’s budgets and forecast.
  • Insure compliance with Product Lifecycle tools and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance to PMO processes, procedures, and use of PMO templates.
  • Regularly keep management informed of risks, issues, and status of on-going projects. 
  • Understand and comply with quality system and business practices necessary to complete job function.
  • Work with functional managers as needed to meet project objectives, on time delivery, and identify/resolve resourcing issues.
  • What your background should look like:

    Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Education :

  • Ten or more years of demonstrated Project/Program Management experience in technology or Medical Device Manufacturing working with internal and external customers required. 
  • Experience in the functional management of a project management team.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations preferred.
  • Formal Project management training required. PMP certification preferred.
  • New product introduction experience for devices required.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing systems, managing up, and managing peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and programs and meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Experience in managing local and global teams.
  • Experience in Product/Project Lifecycle implementation and strong process and systems understanding preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and component or assembly design principles required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, problem solving required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Project, on-line collaboration tools, and databases required.
