The Global Governance, Security, & Privacy (G-GSAP) team is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering Catalina’s global security, privacy, and data governance compliance programs. With privacy, security, risk and data governance concerns so prevalent, our mission is to protect the Catalina brand. We accomplish this by identifying and reducing risk of exposure of inappropriate or incorrect information across the enterprise to improve levels of privacy, cybersecurity, resilience, and quality. GSAP identifies data use issues and risks, recommends solutions, and manages investigations, breaches, and incidents to ensure Catalina data is of high fidelity. GSAP ensures there is a trusted and private environment that provides Catalina and its clients the freedom to innovate, grow, pursue strategic goals, and to do business anywhere and anytime.
The Data Governance Analyst position will report to the Director of Data Governance as a member of the Data Governance division within GSAP. The selectee has the opportunity to help lay the foundation and build out a global data governance progam for a big data analytics organization.
Responsibilities Help establish an enterprise-wide data governance program. With guidance, lead or support business and technology activities around data governance, data quality improvement and master data management. Assist with definition and implementation of metrics and measures to report the quality of data across the organization, both current state and over time. Partner with Data Operations to identify opportunities for data quality improvement and offer suggestions for action. Champion the value of a global data quality program that nurtures a paradigm shift from reactive to proactive. Provide oversight on implementation of data quality controls and master data management processes. Work with business and technical teams to define clear, auditable data requirements for each data asset that is identified as essential. Elicit and document a clear business definition for each enterprise data business term, to provide a common understanding of each and to allow data consumers to confidently choose data that best meets their needs. Ensure data governance-related metadata is captured in a centrally-accessible repository for each enterprise data asset. Maintain data governance-related standards, policies, and procedures within a centralized repository to minimize costs and risks associated with the use of incorrect or incomplete information. Qualifications Required: Minimum One year of data analysis, technical analysis or troubleshooting Some project management or ability to lead meetings preferred Understanding of business risks and costs of incorrect data Fluency in MS Office suite, including MS SharePoint or MS Teams Proven ability to build good working relationships with varied business teams Proven successes in cross-functional workgroup efforts Without fail, embody Catalina values Fluent in English Preferred: Associates’ or technical degree Relevant certifications preferred
