- Oversee one of the primary vendor license portfolios (IBM, Oracle, or Microsoft) by coordinating information with external suppliers, maintaining precise deployment and drawdown records, and working closely with procurement and demand teams on contract renewals and anniversary dates.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in licensing, particularly for one of the primary vendors.
- Assist in the execution and renewal of contracts by providing accurate data related to license allocation and usage, while maintaining open communication regarding the license footprint across a diverse portfolio of software titles.
- Support vendor audits and report on entitlements and usage as required.
- Collaborate with finance teams on budgeting and forecasting activities related to software pricing.
- Initiate purchase requisitions, review and approve invoices, and liaise with Accounts Payable as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including increased automation for enhanced asset management efficiency.
- Manage supplier portals for user access, license keys, and entitlement information.
- Proactively identify and drive opportunities across desktop, server, and cloud environments to achieve successful outcomes by rationalizing and standardizing software renewal contracts and consolidating overlapping software titles to reduce costs.
- Act as an ambassador for effective SAM practices within the global organization.
- Proficient in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of experience in IT asset management, particularly in software asset management.
- Familiarity with software usage metrics and contractual terms for at least one of Microsoft, Oracle, or IBM.
- Experience with Citrix or VMware architecture, and/or public cloud processes and concepts.
- Proven experience managing software contracts and engaging with software vendors, publishers, and resellers.
- Prior experience with Oracle financials is advantageous.
- Experience navigating ServiceNow to extract SAM-related data is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with software inventory and discovery tools is a plus.
- Understanding of license implications on operating systems such as Windows, MAC, Linux, and Solaris is preferred.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, organize, and synthesize large volumes of information.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with employees and management at all levels.
- Self-motivated and capable of working proactively within a truly global team in a matrixed organization.
- Flexibility to accommodate other time zones is preferred but not essential.
- Globally recognized SAM certifications such as IAITAM Certification, CSAM, and CITAM are desirable.
- Agile and Lean certifications are also desirable.

Job Overview
The Global Experian IT Services Software Asset Management (SAM) team plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to licensing regulations for major strategic suppliers while comprehensively understanding centralized software deployment and usage. This understanding is vital for managing contract renewal timelines and anniversary dates. The team collaborates closely with our external SAM partner, the global procurement department, the technology demand team, and both global and regional technical units. The Software Licensing Specialist is expected to take ownership of specific vendor software titles and facilitate collaboration among relevant teams as necessary.
Reporting to the Global Experian IT Services SAM Manager, the successful candidate will embody a mindset geared towards continuous improvement, actively seeking to implement process enhancements, automation, and exploring the integration of emerging AI technologies to boost productivity as Experian embraces these advancements across its workforce.
