Experiencia
At the age of 14, I embarked on my journey into the workforce as a cashier in a supermarket. As I pursued my college education, I remained deeply committed to my career path. This dedication led me to work as a personal assistant for my career director. During my internship at the Guanacaste Tourist Office (CATURGUA), I was part of a groundbreaking program that merged private investment with local government initiatives. As part of this program, we dedicated ourselves to cleaning the pristine beaches around Peninsula Papagayo.
It was during this project that fate intervened, and I had the opportunity to meet the Human Resources Director for Hyatt Hotels in Costa Rica. Her faith in my abilities led me to my first role as an Executive Assistant for Food and Beverage. Over time, I rose through the ranks, becoming a Restaurant Supervisor at the age of 21, taking on my first leadership position. Although challenging, I embraced the opportunity to grow and improve every day.
As my experience expanded, I assumed the role of Restaurant Manager at Hyatt Hotels, where I honed my skills in accounting, warehousing, leadership, teamwork, marketing, and delivering exceptional 5-star service. Creating memorable experiences for our guests, resolving issues with composure, managing human resources, scheduling, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance became second nature to me.
Amidst my successful journey, a shift occurred as I transitioned to the role of Wedding Planner at Marriott Hotels. For two years, I thrived in this capacity until the unexpected arrival of Covid, which altered the landscape of event planning drastically. Adapting to change, I returned to my roots as a Restaurant Manager to remain an integral part of the organization.
Currently, I am embracing my role as a Property Manager, gaining invaluable experience in handling day-to-day operations, rent collection, setting competitive prices, tenant selection, lease coordination, and timely response to maintenance requests. This diverse experience has also equipped me with a profound understanding of real estate.
Through each step of my journey, I have embraced challenges as opportunities to grow, learn, and expand my skill set. My passion for excellence and dedication to providing exceptional service continue to drive me forward in my pursuit of excellence within the hospitality and property management industry.
Educación
My educational journey has been shaped by a passion for learning and a commitment to personal growth. I hold a College degree in Business Management of Sustainable Tourism, which I pursued at the prestigious National Costa Rica University. This program provided me with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable practices within the tourism industry, equipping me with the knowledge to make a positive impact on the environment and local communities.
Furthermore, I expanded my horizons and obtained a bachelor's degree in Pedagogy and Teaching. This additional qualification has empowered me with effective communication and instructional skills, enabling me to effectively convey complex concepts and foster a conducive learning environment for others.
In pursuit of excellence and a well-rounded skill set, I completed two additional courses from the esteemed National Learning Institute (INA). The first course focused on Food and Beverage Management, equipping me with the expertise to oversee and optimize restaurant operations, ensuring a seamless dining experience for patrons.
The second course I undertook at INA was as a Sommelier, a testament to my passion for the art of wine appreciation and the science behind it. This certification not only enhanced my knowledge of various wine varieties and pairings but also refined my ability to create memorable experiences for guests by curating exceptional wine selections.
Together, my academic achievements and specialized training have laid a strong foundation for my professional journey, shaping me into a well-qualified individual with a unique blend of business acumen, teaching capabilities, and expertise in the culinary and beverage industries. I am enthusiastic about utilizing these skills to contribute significantly to the world of sustainable tourism, education, and hospitality
