Karla Picado Valverde

I am a geographer by profession, data analyst, information manager, and a feminist mom, with more than five years of experience working in international cooperation and looking to expand my professional experience. 

I have practical experience in project management and am a technical specialist in information management at the regional-national level in Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Thailand. My professional experience has allowed me to travel to different countries in the mentioned regions and learn the context through fieldwork.

I have participated in research project management (both in academic and professional (including volunteer) environments), including desk work and extensive mapping of data and information sources. I have also worked as a supervisor of staff and consultants at the regional level.

I am pursuing a professional master's degree in data science and business intelligence, especially to develop hard technical skills to enhance my professional career. Currently, I am an advanced user in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI, GIS software (QGis, ArcGis), and a beginner in Python, R, and SQL in process of learning.
