The Opportunity
This position works out of our Alajuela, Coyol location in the Electrophysiology business unit.

EP is advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.


The Microbiology Manager is responsible for managing teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation and control rather than development.

Short-term operational/tactical responsibilities.


What You'll Do

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Carries out studies in the growth, structure, development, and general characteristics of bacteria and other microorganisms.
  • Isolates and produces cultures of microorganisms to identify them and to observe their action upon living tissues and dead organic matter of animals, plants, and other microorganisms.
  • Conducts chemical analysis of substances such as acids, alcohol, and enzymes.
  • Evaluates new substances prior to their initiation into clinical and/or toxicological investigations by verifying activity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Microbiology or related science.
  • Minimum of 10+ years in a medical device/pharmaceutical, or related industry. experience in microbiology and sterilization.
  • Experience in microbiology and sterilization.
  • Articulates technical concepts well and demonstrates technical leadership within the department and outside the department.
  • Person in this position has demonstrated excellent troubleshooting skills in complex situations outside of routine out of specification issues, such as sterilization or contamination issues while at the Senior Microbiologist level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both Spanish and English
